Lose 22 pounds in 2 weeks?!?!?!

Lose 22 pounds in 2 weeks?!?!?! How my client did it!

First, this is a very special case. Secondly, this set a record for weight loss for me. Third, don’t expect this to happen to you, however I wanted to document how one client did it.

Client Details:

Start Weight: 230
Age: 20
Sex: Female
Health Condition: Insulin Resistance/PCOS
Ending Weight (2 weeks): 208

Note: I am not a doctor or medical professional, I cannot diagnose or treat.

Introduction:

As a nutritionist and personal trainer, each year I do a weight loss study that focuses on insulin resistance, diabetes, PCOS, and infertility in women. The above client asked to be part of the study. Note, all clients must sign liability forms and have their diet and meal plan approved by their family doctor.

Diet Plan:

I normally do 1 of 3 diets for women with the above conditions:

  1. High Protein Low Carb
  2. Intermittent Fasting
  3. Keto

During this study, no client picked Keto, and it was evenly split between Intermittent Fasting and High Protein Low Carb.

Whatever plan the client picks, there are certain requirements.

  1. Minimum of 100 ounces of water a day
    • Water helps speed the metabolism in dehydrated individuals, helps control appetite, and helps flush bloat weight.

2. Protein requirement of at least .8 grams per goal body weight. In this case, this person wanted to weigh 150, so we are using a base number of 120 grams of protein.

3. Each diet (IF and LCHP) features no more than 120 grams of carbohydrates a day. Fats are allowed to go higher, especially healthy fats. This helps limited blood sugar and insulin spikes. This is the main goal of this study is to effectively eliminate blood sugar spikes. Clients are allowed to eat the majority of their carbohydrates around their workouts to optimize glycogen replenishment and muscle recovery.

Workouts:

Clients choose between traditional resistance training in the gym, at home based workouts, etc.

Supplements:

If approved by doctors, clients were encouraged to take the following supplements:

  1. 1st Phorm Level-1 Meal Replacement Protein
  2. 1st Phorm Opti-Greens 50
  3. 1st Phorm GDA
  4. 1st Phorm Opti-Reds 50 (Optional)
  5. 1st Phorm BCAA’s (Optional)
  6. 1st Phorm Post Workout Stack (Optional, unless the client lifts weights)

Specific Client Details:

The Client chose an Intermittent Fasting and LCHP diet. She focused on IF as many days as her work schedule would let her, but then she would do LCHP during days she couldn’t fast.

The client wasn’t known as much of a water drinker, so drinking 100+ ounces of water, while limited carbs (Carbs hold water), and eating better whole food sources (less sodium and preservatives) caused her to have accelerated weight loss.

She increased protein to exceed her minimum required protein. This is essential because protein increases metabolism (TEF), almost can’t turn to fat (even at excess amounts), and helps reduce GHRELIN (appetite hormone) while keeping you full.

Client had complained of poor gut health, and the increase in veggies and Opti-Greens 50 helped improve digestion and remove waste easier.

Changing the clients diet habits from a higher refined carbohydrate diet to a lower carbohydrate diet with better sources of food, accelerated weight loss.

Week by week progression:

Week 1: Down 13 pounds (setting new record for a client of mine)

Week 2: Down additional 9 pounds (setting two week total of 22 pounds)

Forecast:

Obviously a 11 pound a week average cannot continue. I forecast the next few weeks at 2-2.5 pounds a week weight loss. Since she is in a 60 day study, I am optimistic that she will, with the help from her doctor, be off medicines related to insulin resistance if she continues with the lifestyle change.

Forecast: 35 pounds in 60 days

Notes:

This is obviously a special case and this is the most a client working with me has lost in a short period. Knowing her dietary choices before following this lifestyle change is contributing to the accelerated weight loss.

I offer “Insulin Resistance Coaching” for $65 for 2 months. Last year I had four clients with infertility have babies in 2020. Average weight loss from last year is 12 pounds in 60 days. Please email nutritiontrain@yahoo.com for details.
